Introduction

My smart goal 1 is to improve leadership development, and the second goal is the organizational planning. Reason behind the selection of these goals is to improve work related affectivity and achieve patient compliance visiting the emergency department. Therefore without treatment no patient leaving the ER.

Goal 1: Leadership Development

My reason behind the selection of leadership development goal is to become more efficient during services in ED. Any patient who enters the ED is instantly taken to the triage room and is completely examined. I can achieve my goal through best practice and also inform staff to help them achieve their goal with in a time. My goal is applicable, and it has linked to my responsibilities. Time goals have also set to achieve familiarity with bedside triage practices within a specific time period.

Meaningfulness of my leadership development goal can be further clarified when it is analyzed through a peer review journal (Bedside triage, ER management, 2008, pp. 4). This article has an emphasis on the improved quality of services provision and development of no waiting area, which correlates to my specific thought that as soon as patient comes to ED it must be immediately attended by the nurse and taken to the triage room. According to the nurse manager, after initial observation of signs and symptoms and registration, patient is checked by the doctor within 30 minutes. In order to make it to be working practically, we must have to train staff as soon as possible and apply our best efforts to make it work. .

Journal also says that initially the nursing staff has doubts about reducing wait time of the patient to no time wait. As we had already achieved time limit of 30minutes, so it achieved the time limit of 15 minutes and ultimately to no time. In my leadership development goal patient, wait time can be reduces by taking them to bed as soon as possible and data entry through electronic systems. This can have achieved well through proper focus and clearly linked to our goal. This shows that they have planned it to achieve through active involvement in the project and do it within the time period. According to my goal best practices are done continuously and estimated time for the staff to get familiar with best practices is of 2 weeks. This is especially for the bed side triage. And it should be achieved with in time with complete grip over the work.

In hospitals, patient's outcome is more at the triage. Therefore, services related to the patients should be fast and accurate. In relation to my leadership goal, each patient is immediately attended by the triage nurse and at its bedside.
