The field of event management has emerged by leaps and bounds over the years. In today's environment, event management has taken the reins of being a professional field where meticulous planning and religious implementation is required for the successful staging of events. The event manager is generally the person involved in coordinating and monitoring the intricacies associated with the event.

Introduction / Background

Event management is defined as the process by which an event is planned, developed, and produced and as with any other form of management is a management process, distribution, control, evaluation, analysis of time, finances, people and other resources to achieve objectives. One point in the process of event management is its organization. It should be a thoughtful work up in small details as possible, to achieve an event worth remembering.

Another point to consider when organizing an event is to define the atmosphere that will project the event.

How should the accommodation of the guests be?

Do the guests stay together for the entire event or divide them sometime in the event?

What emotions evoke comfort, relaxation, pleasure, motivation, and rest?

There are different types of corporate events, according to their objective which are:

Education: It is related to seminars, courses, workshops, conferences, and forums. The staff training events are designed to inform and inspire employees.

Promotion: The fairs, product launches, incentive events for potential clients and business partners. Such events aim to create a desire in the target audience.

Ceremonial: The monuments, anniversaries, dedications, and free concerts.
