Explanations for Mark's behaviour

Consideiring the scenario, Jenny was responsible for Mark's behaviour because she was drunk and she started calling him a loser and in reaction to this Mark got angry and he responded in this way. The case of Jenny and Mark reflects the signs of complications in relationship where one partner demonstrated violent behaviour causing disappointment for Jenny. Domestic violence can be broadly defined as a pattern of violent behaviour of one or both partners in an intimate relationship such as marriage, dating, family, friends or cohabitation. Domestic violence is generally not obvious to the society (Milner & Myers, 2007). However, many of the forms of violence are illegal and constitute the representation of a criminal offense for the violence based on physical and sexual basis. This type of violence can happen to any man of woman constantly or periodically (Featherstone et al., 2011). However, mostly women are affected by domestic violence that is neither physical nor verbal but emotional/psychological. In fact, men are the ones who mostly commit violence. In public, these people seem friendly and caring for their wife and children but usually hurting behind closed doors. Unfortunately, children of all ages are indirectly or directly affected by domestic violence when they see and hear about violence (Jones & Warren-Adamson, 2009). There is no doubt about the fact that Mark's early life, especially his childhood, can be seen as a significant psychological root cause of his present violent behaviour. In fact, his sense of insecurity allowed him to feel that Jenny's family and friends are obstacles in his way to love Jenny and enjoy a relationship with her. These negative feelings accumulate small issues as something big for Mark that apparently stimulated Mark to exhibit violence.

Risks about the situation

The scenario represents a case of domestic violence. The scenario of Jenny and Mark raises some serious concerns about their future relationship. In fact, it seems that Mark will continue to demonstrate violence of any form in future in order to gain power in the relationship. This will bring negative impact on the relationship of Elsa with her partner after she becomes adult and starts her love relationship. In fact, she will have difficulty to understand the meaning of love/relationship and may also have less chance to sustain in her relationship too. Jenny on the other hand will always be living with stress due to Mark's violent behaviour.

The consequences of domestic violence are manifold. They range from the effects on health, financial and social situation of the people affected as far as there are some consequences in terms of costs to society (Shepard & Pence, 1999). The health consequences are partly recognisable, partly attributable to the rather difficult because the underlying real.
