Introduction

The qualitative research is an approach which involves the investigation on a subject. The elements involved in the qualitative data studies are collecting evidence from people regarding different topics, systematically using procedures and findings to answer the questions, answering the desired questions, producing data about the subject that were never determined earlier, and outcomes that are beyond the boundaries of the research.

In this case the qualitative research conducted is based upon the feedback provided by the participants who have been a part of online courses.

Purpose of Qualitative Data Studies

The main purpose of the qualitative data studies is to detect and define data. The aim is to categorize, explain, and explore data by giving it a proper structure. This structure should define concepts, create different perspectives, develop new ideas, map data, and find an association between all the aspects (Bryman & Burgess, 2002).

This research data will provide us with a robust idea as to what problems or loopholes the participants of a research identify in asynchronous classes as to what expectations of theirs is not met. Similarly this will provide us with a detailed idea about planning and designing new courses about how to satisfy the demands of participants and how to meet their learning needs.

Ethical Dimensions in Qualitative Data Studies

The qualitative data is recorded in the form of text or description rather than figures. People use these methods for observing and describing conditions. They are not used to control the scenarios. There are some ethical considerations in the qualitative data studies.

Informed Process Consent

Informed consent is the first ethical consideration in qualitative studies but can be problematic at times when one is relying on the observations. The harm incurred from the treatment is not always the concern, but apart that subjects find threat to privacy. These fears include issues with families, society, and the workplace. It may bring different challenges. Another aspect is that qualitative research cannot provide guidance or direction for data collection methods. The informed process consent has a feature to bargain and redesign the arrangements of the study.

Another challenge that comes into existence is the request for consent. The idea that from whom must the research be conducted. In a general setting, there are multiple reasons due to which people move in and out of interactions. As per some observations, consent is not necessary in the case where: (1) the access is approved by the authority (2) the participants who are involved for the research have already given informed consent, and (3) the consideration of a public factor which is observed behavior by anyone present in the surrounding (Shamoo & Resnik, 2003).
