Introduction

Throughout the world, the early mankind looked for the ultimate truth. They realized the fact that their creation was for a reason. There has to be someone who began this. The sun gave man light and warmth; fire burned him; thunder terrified him; water overwhelmed it; winds buffeted him, all the natural existence acted upon him in a manner not to be resisted. For a long time he remained silent and observed but then refused to go along with it and started the journey of finding the ultimate reality-the divine truth. The following paper elucidates briefly about these deities.

Discussion

Man started associating the entire natural occurrence with the divine power. The natural existence excited man and created the sensation of good and evil. He, the man then judged and compared his observation and deduced the fact that there is a divine power behind all the natural occurrences, which created man and the world around him. Thus the ideas of god and religion sprung. As natural beings were the model on which the idea of God established, man believed that the divinity was originally diverse as the form under which he acted. Each one being powerful and genius.

Circe

The number of major Gods recognized around the world and recorded in the history is around five thousand and two hundred. Some gods and goddesses are given credit for creation of world, or food, warfare, love, good and bad elements of life. Every religion has a different god but all the gods in every religion have one thing in common; that they are all powerful. The most familiar gods are from Greek mythology. Zeus was the king of gods in Greek mythology. The ancient Greeks believed that whenever lightning struck the earth, it was the sign of Zeus being present. Hera was the wife of Zeus and queen of goddesses. She was the goddess of marriages. Athena being the goddess of war and cunning wisdom. Apollo was the god of music, truth, poetry, dance and healing. Demeter, Poseidon, Hermes, Ares are among other famous Greek gods. Westerners are familiar with moon goddesses. The world lunar comes from the feminine Latin word Luna. This seems natural because of the lunar month and menstrual cycle. Arma, Artemis, Diana are some of the moon goddesses.
