Critique Paper: 'Morality Is Not Relative' by James Rachels
In the account that Rachels presents in relation to whether morality is relative or not, Rachels shows with his arguments that he does not subscribe to the theory of cultural relativism. Benedicts approach as a cultural relativist and the arguments that are presented by her is opposed by Rachels who suggests that morality is not relative. The observation that different cultures have different moral codes and that universal truth in ethics is a myth, is what Rachels argues against.
