Organizational Effectiveness

From the alignment of three central factors organizational effectiveness is assured:

Culture: How an organization works in order to succeed (Patel & Patel 2008, p.245).

Leadership: Defining a vision and direction for the organization and for the people's mobility to attain them (Shehabuddeen 2007, p.35).

Strategy: Developing the fundamental focus for the step that the organization will take in order to endow with important values accessed to customers (Managing Change 2007).

Therefore, successful leaders establish and maintain the culture that will facilitate the strategic objectives of the organization. This approach puts performance and leadership development with the system and strategic level (Eisenhardt, 2000). It connects leadership behaviors to market, strategy of business, and the organizational culture needed in order to apply that strategy (Laureate Education 2011).

Organizational change is inevitable. Concerns of culture of organization are increasingly becoming significant and a mean of strategic competitive improvement. Change in organization generally amplifies and encourages competitiveness, since they need drastic changes in technology, strategy and operating system and the style of management (Furst et al. 2000). For these changes to occur deep analysis of believes, values, and patterns of action which lead routine performance of the organization. Innovation and creativity play a vital role in the process of change. The subject of organizational culture generally represents two opposing perceptions. Firstly, organizational culture is the adhesive that binds the organization jointly and the other considers it as a primary aspect of the process of organizational change (Denison, 2001, pp.347).

Read (1996, pp. 223) states that post-industrial organizations of these days are founded the knowledge and their accomplishment rely on innovation, creativity, inventiveness and discovery. Zaltman et al. (West & Farr, 1990, pp. 3-4) emphasis on the significance of innovation and creativity is focused as the significance of fresh notions cannot be gaudy. Notions and their expression as services and goods are the nucleus of societal change (Johnson et al. 2005).

In the middle of change, leaders and the organization are putting effort to develop an outline of institutions in which innovation and creativity are approved as a primary norm of culture (Anderson and Tushman, 604). It is clear that the rules which are unwritten (behavioral norms) and communal values impact performance, moral and the implication of innovation and creativity in a verity of ways. According to Deal and Kennedy (1982, p. 164) openness and trust in the progression of change affect how and if change takes place. It has been supported by Roberts, Ross, Roth and Smith Senge, Kleiner, (1999, p. 44) openness (emerging a true sole of trust and inquiry) generally plays a vital role in the procedure of organizational change. Moreover, persuasive, fresh and innovative ideas assist employees believe and work in fresh ways. Therefore, there is a requirement to comprehend the way organizational culture is supposed to be dealt with for promoting innovation and creativity as part of change in flux (Kotter 1996).
