Introduction

The legal system of any country or nation has a very important part to play in minimizing all the criminal activities and ensuring that justice prevails. However, it is important to note that there are a number of components that combine to form a legal system. These include the law making and the law enforcing bodies. If further specified, the legal system can be categorized in to various bodies such as police, crime investigation bodies and various other institutions. However, the most important body that can be regarded as the central element of a legal system is the courts.

The Judicial courts can simply be defined as system that is created by the acting government with the help of the enactment of the statutes or by the use of constitutional provisions. The basic purpose of these courts is to enforce the law and the constitution for the public welfare and good. In fact, it can be said these courts are the impartial and neutral platforms that play the most vital role in resolving the controversies and conflicts between two or more groups who seek redress from the violation and breach of any legal code and right. It is important to note that both the criminal and civil matters can be dealt with in the same court, however with different court procedures and rules for each (Epp, 1998). Therefore, the court plays an important part in not just the formation of a constitution. However, it also remains the most authentic yet neutral party to identify the oppressor and the oppressed and deal with it accordingly.
