Support Open Standards

It is expected that advanced extra vehicular communication can be accommodated in the system because of the flexibility of TCP/IP using standards like IPv6.

Introduction of Vehicle Communications

In near future, cars will be operated autonomously by implementing external vehicle communications. the system will be designed in a such a way that the cars will able to communicate with internet, transportation infrastructure as well as other cars around it. a method of communication will be proposed by Offeror. In order to accomplish effective vehicle communication, hardware and standards will lay their role in supporting this innovative method (Gupta and Kumar, 2000).

Vehicle communication systems are the result of technological advancement. These are the emerging type of networks in which the communicating nodes will be served by roadside units and vehicles. This system will facilitate the drivers to inform each other and will help in avoiding accidents by traffic information and safety warnings. This system encourages a cooperative approach as this system will be more effective for preventing traffic congestions.

Generally there are two types of nodes in vehicle networks: roadside networks and vehicles. these both are included in Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) devices. both public communications and data communications must be supported by the network but public communications are preferred more (Amir et al., 2004).

Vehicular communications are mostly established in the form of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). the main objective of ITS is to attain productivity and safety with the help of intelligent transportation in which communication between fixed and mobile nodes is integrated. ITS is mainly dependent on wireless as well as wired communications. This is considered as one of the most effective and efficient technology in vehicles that will help the drivers and transportation system as a whole in a number of ways (Hubaux et,al. 2004).

Evaluation Criteria

Responses will be evaluated on the basis of following criteria in order to determine merit:

Effectiveness of approach for achieving the required SOW capabilities and objectives.

strength and efficiency of Offer or management

Approach for executing the effort involving engineering process, schedule, organization and staffing.

Realism and reasonableness of planned budget and cost on the basis of best and most appropriate value.

Solution capability to be incorporated into documents and public plans of automakers.

Methodology

Research Design

The research incorporates a mixed research design incorporating primary and secondary data. A number of literatures were reviewed to have a better understanding of the topic under study. Additionally primary research was conducted in the form of a survey utilizing questionnaires to elicit more specific responses from children.
