Introduction

The paper intends to illustrate the business for a conflict resolution strategy. For this purpose, the VA Office of Resolution Management has been taken into the consideration. The VA Office of Resolution Management (ORM) is a separate business entity that promotes the healthy working environment through preventing the workplace related issues. The organization is responsible for addressing and resolving the conflicts and disputes that deteriorate the workplace environment. ORM ensures fostering the positive work environment through delivering the alternative clash resolution techniques for all workplace disputes that include discrimination, favoritism, alleged equal employment opportunity discrimination, workplace harassment, and etc. ORM processes the workplace related complaints on the timely and proficient manner (US Department of Veterans Affairs, 2013). The complaint process of ORM includes the confidential counseling, mediation, and investigation.

The office of resolution management provides the cost saving strategies to foster the healthier work environment and improve the workplace productivity. Such strategies focus on resolving disputes as early as possible. The ORM works with the employees, management, and human resources staff to address the grievances. The organization believes in the team based approach in addressing the complaints. Moreover, the key to success of the organization is their practice of mediation as according to it, the disputes are resolved more quickly when both the parties want to resolve the issues and work in good faith to reach an agreement (US Department of Veterans Affairs, 2012).

The ORM commits with the conflict resolution goals, diversity concerns, and equal employment opportunity issues to foster the constructive conflict resolution through emphasizing on integrity, commitment, advocacy, respect, and excellence. They make sure to enforce the standards for appropriate workplace behavior while taking prompt actions against the illegal practices (Shinseki, 2012).

No Fear Policies of ORM

The conflict is inevitable in workplace which if left unresolved causes to disruption, attrition, and poor productivity. However, in order to address such concerns the ORM maintains the respectful, productive, and harmonious work environment. The ORM operates the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services to assist the resolution of conflicts constructively. The ADR ensures the constructive communication and develop the collaborative solutions. The ORM ensures to vigorously enforce the no fear policies that apply the Federal EEO laws and regulations in the workplace. ORM reminds the managers and supervisors of their accountabilities to maintain an environment free from the reprisal, retaliation, and discrimination actions. The laws of ORM do not tolerate the discrimination on the basis of race, color, religions, identity, sexual orientation, and other opposing discriminatory practices.

The ORM's law of Retaliation Act (No Fear Act) prohibits the retaliation and reprisal against the employees who violate the laws, engage in the official wrongdoing, and act of fraud and abuse. Hence, the No Fear Act ensures all employees to make no fear complaints to prevent the workplace harassments and disputes. In simple words, these laws cultivate an inclusive work environment that reflects the diversity in workplace (Office of Diversity and Inclusion, 2013).
