Gen x individuals see Gen y as people who do not know what they are talking about. Due to this age of technology all, the people from gen y ask questions like what in it for us and this is the most irritating point for the previous generation (Bengtson, 1970). People of this generation demand constant performance appraisals in order to achieve high growth. Annual performance reviews are too long for them to wait. Recognition is more important for them compared to salary.

Instant gratification is the idea of achieving success in no time. The concept of instant success that people of generation Y are looking for. This idea how ever is not practical.

They are supposed to achieve success by doing well in their career at every job. The author identified a very easy way of achieving success.
