All the healthcare systems create some rights of the patients in order to protect the rights of patients. Health care systems aim to provide the health care facilities regardless of age. Moreover, they consider the needs of dignity and privacy (ACS, 2013). For the provision of quality and safe healthcare services, the healthcare settings maintain the following rights of patients.

Patients have a right to get information regarding the rights of patient in hospital.

They have a right to have respectful and considerate care.

They possess a right to involve in decision making about health care services, as well as to refuse or accept the procedure of treatment.

Patients have a right to receive and fill informed consent form.

They possess a right regarding confidentiality.

Importance of Rights

The purpose of patients` rights is to offer quality, safe and ethical healthcare facilities. Fulfillment of rights improves the well-being of patients by involving them in their care. The patient`s involvement in his treatment present better outcomes.

Patients` Right in Hospital

All the patients must know all the available rights in the premises of a hospital. The hospital must provide a referral, service or evaluation based on the urgent necessities of patients. For instance; patients of surgery must know that what facilities and referrals would be provided in case of emergency.

Respectful and Considerate Care

It encompasses consideration of cultural, spiritual and psychosocial factors affecting the perception of sickness. Healthcare professionals must consider and respect these variables at the time of dying. They must respect their cultural and religious values at this time. For example; at the dying time of any Muslim, his family and visitors read verses from their holy book. The medical staff should allow them to read over their dying loved ones.
