Comparison of Themes of Red Hat and School Daze

Introduction

Red Hats, the introduction novel from comic and former TV dad Damon Wayans, is surprisingly bereft of the smutty, extreme naturalness, Wayans is consistently known for. It's a story consisting, persistently impressive tale of payoff and sisterhood that seems to be tailor-made to be study in professional meeting and nowhere else.

The publication follows Alma, a nasty, getting older lady who has a contemptuous connection with her partner, Harold, right up until he passes away in his rest. As predicted, her life spirals went out of control and attempted to commit suicide. Until, she is saved from a destruction attempt by the local part of the Red Hat Community, a band of professional women who offer as her assistance team and celebration team.

Red Hats is a motivating tale about a lately widowed mature lady, Alma, who rediscovers life through a special band of mates that call themselves the “Red Hats.” On the other hand, the movie School Daze by Spike Lee, completely outclassed the youngster lifestyle of the 1980's. Provided, Lee's movie arises in college, not school, but it in the same way promotions with the various additional complications of being young and coming-of-age.

School daze is a musical-comedy which is set in an imaginary all-black higher education school known as Objective College. This is a movie that follows a number of figures who signify different factors of Lee's assumed experience in higher education.

Discussion

The first similarity between the book and the movie is that both have showed affection for music and dance. Alma, the old lady in Red hat, had all bitter memories with her husband; she is a lady who liked nothing more than going out dancing with her partner. On the other hand, the movie School daze has a number of dance sequels. Since dance is a way of expression, therefore both the authors had used this medium of expression.

Further, both the authors Damon and Spike had their background in comic and therefore had expressed the social issues with all the humor to communicate with the audience with a deeper effect. This humor had beautifully depicted the enriched concepts of the stories.

Themes of Red Hats

The tale Red Hat is partially reality and partially hype. The Red Hat certainly do exist as the writer's lovely granny Lillian, as well as Damon's mom Elvira, is in the often established company. But Alma, the lady at the middle of Damon's tale is imaginary and stoned together from the actor's own mom and buddies.

Alma is a nasty, sharp-tongued lady who means her partner, Harold, as her “has been”. She has difficulties displaying and sharing with him, even though she overlooks what they once had. One mid-day, furious at Harold for something simple, Alma mutters under her breathing that she desires he would die. She was shocked when he succumbs that night time to cardiac arrest departing Alma all alone and guiltiness -ridden.
