Comparison and Contrast of the Development of States in Northern Africa and

Western Africa before 1600's

Introduction

Africa is always an attention for the archeologists to look for the early civilization of mankind and development in it. It is a continent which reports the emergence and development of mankind. On the other hand, it is the content which consists of the third world or underdeveloped states. With a thorough consideration, it is supposed that a country where there are the evidences of the earliest civilization, should be first to developed on the basis of early existence of mankind on this continent. In the beginning, the African continent was divided into different communities and groups there was no concept of official state. This is the land of primitive mankind who begin their living in the caves and getting food by hunting. For the development of states, the most essential elements is the concept of civilization. There was no concept of civilization in the African continent unless there reached the prehistoric civilization through different other continents. The first lesson of civilization was received from the Eastern continents and the western world. This was the beginning of development of early civilization of Africa and this led to the development of states in this continent. The proper system of development of states in Africa is the resulted in the centralized government. It was the beginning of the establishment of different states institutions for the better organization of the African territories. It is one of the major reasons that led to the development of the states departments into further division of different organizational systems such as bureaucracy, politics, defense and different other state departments. The beginning of the development of states and political system in Africa has been associated with the influence of the Egyptian pharaohs. This was the time when there was no political and social system in Africa before eight century. Later with the influence of the outer world on Africa, it resulted in the emergence of States in Africa (Giblin, 1999). Continues development and advancements in these states begin to become more organized and political regions. On the basis of its demographic and geographic formation, Africa is divided into three major regions, North, West and South Africa. North African region is linked with the Asian countries and most specifically Egypt. North Africa consists of seven states; Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, and Western Sahara. History of North Africa is generally affected by the link with Asia and Arab world, through Sahara. From here the civilization first entered and resulted as the development of states and political system in Africa. As compare to north Africa, west Africa consists of different states such as; Benin, Gambia, Liberia, Nigeria, Canary Islands, Burkina, Ghana, Mali, Senegal, Guinea, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau, Togo and Niger. North and West African regions have passed from the different stages of their developmental process from the early civilization.
