In The Rocking Horse Winner, the family home is exemplified while the father and mother never say their need for extra money; however, the house appears to vocalize the wish for lots and lots of money (Harrison, 2002). Their house covetously and materialistically asks for more and more money while the poor kids take note of these cries enthralled. On the other hand, in The Child by Tiger, the story revolves around the mysteries that involve a man named Dick Prosser. As the author develops the character qualities of Dick nearly to that of a saint, he prepares his readers for a sudden distress. Dick's unexpected destructive behavior and violence proves that man has an intrinsic evil nature and that in spite of external righteousness there can be germs of violence and anger inside (Skipp, 1989).
