Introduction

Greek religion was ancient religion .Greeks believed and worship in many gods: they were Polytheistic (Arthistory.sbc.edu,n.d). Greek religion is not famous for many gods, but they also believed in traditional tales, and all were interlinked together (Conner, pp.13). There are many famous traditional myths in Greek Mythology, but this paper focuses over only two of them. Myth about Apollo and Cassandra and the other one is Eros and Psyche.

Apollo and Cassandra were famous for love story and, Apollo gave his prophecy to Cassandra. Mostly people know the Apollo for Delphi Temple (Arthistory.sbc.edu, n.d). Delphi has immense importance in Greek religion and great site for worships of Greeks. Apollo had the power to heal the wound (Relihan, pp.7). Cassandra has been famous in Greek mythology for her beauty and prophecy power for future tragedies. Eros and Psyche were famous for struggling for love Deception of love and trust in Greek Mythology. Mostly people know about Eros as a “God of Love” and Psyche for her struggle for her love (Sternberg, pp.88).

Apollo and Cassandra

They were thousand of gods of kings in Greek history. Some were famous for ability and strengths, and Zeus was one of them. Zeus was king god. He was sky god (Sternberg, pp.90). He lived in mountain, and some people believed that he threw lightning bolts, when he was angry (Relihan, pp.22).

He was famous as a “Sky God”. He has a great son “Apollo” Apollo had immense strength and powers (Relihan, pp.23).

He has always been recognized as a “God of sun and light”. People believed that as a “Sun God”. He was also famous for his truth, prophecy, music, poetry, healing and other things. He has the power of prophecy (Arthistory.sbc.edu.n.d). Delphi Temple was famous for two myths, which were related to Apollo: People came into this temple and Apollo predicted the future of people, a dragon came into Delphi Temple and Apollo killed this dragon after fought. Priam was a king, he has three daughters, and Cassandra is one of them (Sternberg, pp.88). She was very beautiful and queen of Trouy. Apollo fell in love, when he saw her. Apollo and Cassandra myths were famous, when Apollo gave prophecy to Cassandra (prediction of future, what will be happen in the future). Apollo did not want to transfer his prophecy, but when Apollo kissed her, she spit in his mouth. After that, she left this place, she totally forgot him (Arthistory.sbc.edu, n.d.). A few people believed in other myth that “when Cassandra spent a night at Delphi temple, a snake licked her ears and after that she was able to figure out the future by hearing. Apollo was annoyed and depressed, because he loved her with heart and soul. He gave punished to her; nobody believed your predictions.
