Introduction

Self-reflection and self-evaluation are tools to cultivate our self-esteem. Festinger's theory of social comparison states that people evaluate themselves as by comparing themselves to other people. Whenever we make a comparison of traits, either positive or negative, we are making a social comparison. I make these social comparisons every day. I think about my parents, their actions, their aspirations and think in what aspects I am like them.
