A clear connection exists between the way people parent their children and the way in which their children tend to become either perpetrators or victims of bullying behaviours. There are many reasons why children tend to become bullies or become the people that others can easily bully (Oregon City Schools, 2013). It is important to understand the effect of parenting on children and to study the relationship of parents with their children, who exhibit bullying behaviours. The parents need to know about the best ways in which they can strive to work to be the best of parents and thus prevent their children from the menace of bullying. That is why the purpose of this research is to conduct an investigatory study of the relationship between parenting style and children bullying behaviours.

The concept of bullying is very common and a lot of people can recall some event in their lives which relates to bullying. The events recalled can be from personal experiences or from something people have seen on television or read in books, but one thing is apparent and that is the fact that bullying is one of the most common problems a lot of people have to go through, specifically in their childhood. The stories related to bullying are of a lot of concern to teachers and parents due to a number of reasons. The well-being and healthy growth of children is the utmost concern of parents and teachers and bullying can adversely affect the children's growth in a number of ways.
