CHAPTER 3: METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents the planned research design and methodology used for this study and will explain why this approach has been adopted. It provides an overview of the approach of research that is adopted in this paper. It further looks at the practical approach and research methodology adopted for achieving the aims and objectives of this research. This chapter will provide a detailed outline of the research design of the proposed study. It also rationalizes the research methods and sampling strategies used for gathering data in this research. This chapter ends with a discussion of the ethical considerations associated with this research work and the issues related to reliability, validity, generalisation and triangulation of the outcomes of this study. In this paper, design of a research methodology is presented which consists of philosophical assumptions and framework, a research paradigm, strategies and methodologies used for collecting data and deriving meaning from the collected data. This chapter also expands on the elements of the research design, in particular, and towards the research approach of the proposed study. The research methodology of this research is designed in a manner that enables readers to interpret the research findings in a convenient manner. The design helps the readers in contextualizing the research approach and understanding the relationship between the research design and research outcomes. In considering methodology for the proposed study, the researcher will considered interviewing the experts of this field to find out the best and the most appropriate research methodology for this research work. Additionally, significant care and attention is provided to the ethical considerations of the research.

Research Approach

There are two types of research approaches are widely adopted among various researches i.e. deductive approach and inductive approach. Research approach is adopted depending upon the chosen research methodology. Inductive research approach is a rigorous and credible research approach. In inductive approach, bottom up approach is used by the researcher to begin the research work with their initial observations. The researcher beings the collection of data for research purpose in an attempt for developing a theory with the help of that data (Teddie, 2009, p.86). The researchers that use the inductive approach compare the theories and findings of various academic studies and researches to from a general start become specific. However, for this study, the researcher has adopted deductive approach. In deductive approach the researcher start the work from a general basis and idea to get the specific findings that proof or justify the research hypotheses and questions. This approach is also known as top down approach. The researcher develops a hypothesis or theory initially and designs a strategy for research for testing the formulated theory. In such an approach, the researcher starts with a logical and abstract relationship between various concepts. He then shifts his focus towards bringing about concrete empirical evidences.
