CAUSES OF PRESSURE

Psychological balance plays a vital part in an individual's life and is of much significance. Pressure, in psychological context, refers to the mental overburdening and stress that spoils the moods, personality and well being of an individual. It is necessary for a person to be mentally relaxed so that the life may be enjoyed in its true sense. This paper will describe the causes of pressure and it consequences in men, women and children.

Pressure

The pressure in psychological context pertains to the mental pressure such as stress or depression that overwhelms and overburdens an individual. Stress pertains to the responsiveness to an organism towards a stressor which is a stimulus or an environmental condition. Stress refers to the way to body to respond to any challenges or trials. Stress may be defined for the ways in which the individual feels abnormal pressure and the body responds to it by the sympathetic nervous system which ultimately leads to the Fight-or-Flight response. The condition is usually explained as a positive or negative condition which may pose impacts on the physical or mental well-being of the organism (Salmans, Sandra, 1997).

The individual faces stress as the normal physical response towards particular events that make them feel upset or threatened in their balance of life in different ways that tend to activate the “fight-or-flight” reaction in the body. This is the stress response which means the way of body to protect the individual. When the individual is working in a proper manner, it enables them in staying energetic, focused, and alert. In the situations of emergency, it is the stress that saves the life of the person by giving the additional strength to protect and defend. However, if the stress reaches beyond a certain point, it becomes challenging and even dangerous for the person to bear it.

Depression is also one of the major mental pressures that occur in people irrespective of the gender. It pertains to a state of aversion and low mood towards the activity which may impacts the behaviors, thoughts, sense, and feelings of well being in an individual. the person who is depressed might feel anxious, sad, hopeless, empty, helpless, worried, guilty, worthless, hurt, irritable, or restless (Koolhaas, 2011), Moreover, the depressed people may also lose interest in other that they used to enjoy once and also undergo the loss of overeating or appetite, and face many problems in terms of concentrating, decision making, remembering details, and may also reach the verge of committing suicide.
