1. A. Since the group of 120 RNs are under research for their eating habits where upon 85 percent of them are Caucasian and age limit of the group is between 22 to 47 years, diversity in a study specimen is very important for the accurate outcome of the research. The study is under taking for Caucasian nurses hence the findings about eating habits for nurses can only be implemented for Caucasian group. The age groups are selected chiefly for adolescence to mid age nurses, so the results can only apply to the specific set of RNs. Substantial selection of diversified and long term cultural, racial and social interactive study group provide better chances for definitive research inferences.
1. B. The mentioned hypothesis constitutes the “Null Hypothesis”, as it has been formulated for the population data and not for an individual point of view. The hypothesis is evaluating entirely the numerical data that those who receive acupuncture and those who haven't experienced any difference in both the scenarios in pain management. The null hypothesis should be that there is “NO” difference between the two groups, selected and non-selected. If this hypothesis gets accepted then the final outcome of the study would be either cancelling the other entity or the results would be non-specific and can't be applied on either one of them. For example, people use acupuncture for various types of pain relieve, some pains are minute in nature and the others are severe in infliction. If some people in the study groups find relieve in pain from acupuncture but not fully satisfied from the total relieve of the pain then in which category these people will be placed as they can not qualify in the exact and specific counter parts? The outcome as a result of such hypothesis will be prone to errors and will have lesser precision.
1. C. The primary objective of a research should always be based on moral insights pertinent to ethical frameworks. The respect for moral dignity makes it unacceptable to treat respondents as objects or things, because doing so fails to respect and impoverishes all of humanity. The implication of this moral can be applied in research practices as protecting the multiple and interdependent interests of the participants whether physical or psychological to cultural and religious integrity. In study, neglect or discrimination on the basis of background or creed is like insulting the respect and pride of the persons under consideration, and is against all ethical values in research studies.
