Introduction

The teaching of social study at schools gains integral importance. Therefore, in the last couple of years many schools in which the subject of Social studies is regarded as mandatory, enhances their standards at all levels. Moreover, history gains its importance and become a part of one of the major area of Social Studies. Social studies covers a number of various topics i.e. from arts to history all come under the same umbrella. Therefore, there are a number of issues surrounding the domain. Some school of thought is on the view that, social studies are a domain which is composed of a number of various other subjects and courses. On the other hand, some Scholl of thought believe it is a study which aims to develop certain skills in students.

In order to identify the important aspects of a social studies book, I have chosen a book titled “What is the role of the United States in the world of today?” it is regarded as one of the most interesting topics on the other hand, it is mandatory for the up-coming generation to examine and understand the role of United States in the world of today. This study enlighten the students and make them aware of the challenges which America has faced in order to make the world a better place to live, during the class activities they have to look on to the role of United states as well as, they are allowed to open the mind and use the idea of critical thinking, so as to determine and understand the basics prior to study.
