Barack Hussein Obama was the first Senator from the State of Illinois and became the 44th and the first African-American President of the United States after being elected on November 4, 2008. In October 2009, he was appointed a Nobel Peace Prize and was reelected as a president in November 2012 by defeating Mitt Romney.
