Society comprises various social groups and these groups are divided into two subgroups. Two or more individuals with the same value, norms and expectation and having regular interaction with each other, are called social groups. Sub-groups include; primary groups and secondary groups.
My Familia is a 1995 self-determining American movie made by Gregory Nava, inscribed by Nava and Anna Thomas, and having lead roles of Jimmy Smits, Edward James Olmos, and Esai Morales. The movie shows three age groups of a Mexican American familial who emigrated from Mexico and resided in Los Angeles. In the movie, the Sanchez family members come across with the danger of gang hostility (Mi Familia, 1995). The communication among family members, their relationships and the emotional in-depth shows that the family portrays in “Mi Familia” belongs to the primary group.
For instance, the Sanchez home is shown to be bursting with activities and liveliness. They ought to do something every day, despite hardships and difficulties. Ruckuses among children and celebration at the time of visits of acquaintances are also characters of a primary group where every small thing is cherished together (Mi Familia, 1995).
