Introduction

Human sex is a subject that plays a vital role in everyone's life. Irrespective, of the gender, size, age, nationality and etc, it is an essential part of what we are and what we do. It is way through which an individual experience and express himself or herself as sexual beings. There are several factors helping to develop our sexuality (McLeod, 2007). One of the most vital is our actual gender. It is an important part of our personalities whether we are aware of it or not. There are several theories, which explain this term. Some of them are explained below:

Scenario

This case study is based on the relationship of a girl (Patricia) and a boy (Ira). They are both into a relationship since 15 months. They have spent most of the night together, and Ira Patricia have decided to share an apartment with Ira. The reason being saving of money and further enhancement of their relationship. Ira is reluctant to approve this approach. The main reason being his parents objection to this idea, and the other that he felt was not finalization of their plans after college. Patricia is hurt by Ira's response, and she feels this might jeopardize her relationship with him. She is now uncertain regarding how to move further.

This case can be applied to the findings of Freud. He argued that women undergo various experiences in the development of their personalities. The reason being the three concepts such discussed in Psychodynamic Theory above. This concept applies to Ira who said that they (Ira and Patrcia) should be cautious and prudent of making any significant commitments at this stage (Piotrowski, 2004).
