Question 1: Andy has mentioned that he was talking to his mother and she asked whether the family history of osteoporosis had been addressed in his program. Explain the principles or bone growth to Adam and how his program will have a positive effect on bone density.

Answer

Physical activity serves in maintaining, body functioning, muscle strength, BMD “bone mineral density”, mobility and balance, therefore; it might help in preventing fractures and falls. At the same time, it is tentatively possible that physical activity heightens the risk of fractures as it may raise risk of falls and can greatly affect on BMD. Most of the exercises carry many benefits that include the increment in muscle coordination, strength, and the entire betterment of health. There is a core connection between exercise and osteoporosis. Exercise is basically significant for preventing and treating osteoporosis by bettering bone heath. Osteoporosis is an abnormal loss of bony tissue resulting in fragile porous bones attributable to a lack of calcium.

Bone is a living tissue like muscle that reacts to exercise by reflecting stronger attitude. Young men and women who regularly exercise normally attain better peak bone mass, higher bone density and potency that those who never exercises. It is a common rule that bone mass raises in the third decade of human life. After this time, people start losing bone. Men and women who are above 20 should do regular exercise for preventing bone loss (Wasserman, 2005). It is important to understand the value of exercise because it gives you many beneficial features for strengthen body functions and bone working. Resistance works with osteoporosis because it tones up muscle and strengthens bone. Different resistance exercise reduces the risk of fractures and enhances bone density. Bone growth heavily responses to weight bearing activities such as water exercise that make your muscles harder. Moreover, the remodelling of bones reacts also to useful necessities of the mechanical load.

Question 2: To assist Andy in improving the flexibility of his hamstrings you introduce a facilitated stretching exercise. Describe the exercise and explain how the improvement of the hamstring to stretch could improve the against antagonist relationship during muscle contraction.

Answer

Hamstring is a common injury that usually happens in various programs of exercises. It holds serious nature and usually takes long time for rehabilitation of injury (Scott, et al 2001. Different research shows that injury can be of 2 types, one occurs while high speed running or due to heavy workout, and the other during the motion where the muscles of hamstring reach to extreme stretching. The major keys for effective hamstring stretching include: when a person does any kind of hamstring stretches, patients must avoid bouncing that could activate a muscle spasm. It rather enters in the stretch for gently holding it.

The exercise of facilitating stretching starts:

By holding the hamstring stretch for 10 seconds and should slowly increments to 30 seconds.

Do remember to breathe while stretching
