The World Health Organization-WHO describes health as a point of complete physical, social and mental well being of an individual. Coupled with, the absence of any form of disease or illness. This definition has been in effect from 1948 with no amendments been made to it since then (Who.int, 2013). Furthermore, health and wellbeing can also be referred as the absence of physical and mental illnesses and disease. Coupled with, the complete achievement and maintenance of mental stability and physical fitness. In addition, a health and wellbeing of an individual is best described holistic or complete when their emotional, mental, physical and social mindset and approach is positive. Similarly, it is important to note that health and wellbeing concept and practices vary amongst different cultures, nations and life stages of an individual.
Likewise, the real life application and importance of health and well-being is of great importance, especially, in the present settings of today's modern world. Today, good health and wellbeing is not essential at an individual level, but for many other social and economic entities as well. For example, today the business employers seek to hire competent human resource that is not only well-skilled and sensible but also mentally and emotionally mature and stable. Through this, business organizations aim to increase their productivity and performance levels from the input of their employees. Moreover, the importance and trend of business organizations to hire healthy individuals is not limited to business organizations. Other social institutions such as charities, educational institutions, public offices and more, stress the importance of hiring competent human resource, as well.

Today, a man's life is influenced by rapid and continuous changes in their social and physical environments in the accelerated life pace of the twenty-first century. The latter phenomenon is further aided through the constant development of new technologies, changing consumer preferences, social and personal values, environment and evolving lifestyles (ICSU, 2011). Therefore, having a good health and wellbeing is of a lot of significance to help an individual navigate and counter these rapid changes happening around them. This is because having a good health enables a person to live their lives fully and helps them to take control of their mind and body, which leads them to make good informed decisions about their lives.
