Introduction

It seems as though the mankind has started to despise even the most minor and negligible aspect of inconvenience and discomfort, and therefore, the prime objective pertains to the provision of ease and convenience in every aspect of a human life. However, given the abstrusity of the previously mentioned statement, a naive mind would be coerced to penetrate its assimilation through the underlying connotations attributed to it. If the same ideal is associated with the desire of mankind for the ease in choosing and selecting the necessities or augmented substances for oneself, it can be articulated with sheer eloquence that the modern time and its pertinent endowments have played a pivotal role in materializing this imbedded human desire. Hence forth, over time, numerous advancements pertaining to the ever growing digital world have embarked on the pathways of human lives and relevant activities, and little was it known a few decades back that the same medium will be a critical facet in rendering the ease and convenience of shopping for the inhabitants of the modern society.

Why did books and cd's sell successfully online immediately while many other products took time to sell online?

As mentioned in the introductory section, quest for ease is one pivotal factor that has propelled the human traffic towards buying the products online, rather than seeking to manually compelling oneself to perform physical exertion and practically be present, at the point where the necessities have been furnished. However, given the major role played by the factor of ease in escalating the sales of numerous products online, a naïve yet cognitive mind is pushed towards seeking the verbal response of the query that refers to swift, prompt and unimpeded sales of online books and CDs, in comparison to other products that are available rendering the same ease and procedure of buying and selling.

However, at this point it is highly imperative to refresh the memory regarding the fact that the trend of selling the books and CDs online was not the facet of digital world. When Amazon did the endeavor of fulfilling this subtle requirement of buyers, bearing in mind the aspect of convenience, this idea was welcomed with open arms by the respective consumers. However, there are other factors attributed to the swift sales of these products (books and CDs), in comparison to the high online sales of other products. The first aspect pertains to the fact that consumers believe that the element of variety and differentiation is not present in these categories, and a consumer buys these products with a predetermined mindset.
