Introduction

“A Good Man is Hard to Find”, written by Marry Flannery O'Connor, which is one of the renowned Southern Gothic literature example, focusing of character, events, peculiar and native colors for communicating an unsettling a mood life of South America. The essence of the Southern Gothic literature is that is seems to be a normal sort being portray, but ultimately they reveal disturbing, strange and horrid side of the story. Plot Summary

The story begins with the planning of the destination of the trip, having a disagreement in family for the selection of the destination, where Bailey wants to take his wife, two children; John Wesley and June Star, and baby to visit Florida. Bailey's mother, namely only grandmother, rejected to go to Florida with the claim that a criminal has headed towards Florida name MisFIt. The other day they all finally decided to leave for Florida, during the grandmother indulges in telling stories to kids and playing games with kids. They stopped at a restaurant, to have lunch the owner of the restaurant Red Sammy Butts and his wife indulge in the talk related to the current situation of the world, where grandmother complaint that it is hard to find a good man these days and no one in today's world can be trusted.

They set off again for the journey, on the way grandmother remembered about the old plantation, which was she thought in the same area and told kids about it, by creating extra interest in it through makeup about the secret doors in the house with the hidden treasures. This made kids more inquisitive for exploring the place, thus whining their father to take to where grandmother was saying. Hence, Bailey took the turn and drive through the dirt driveway, after the while grandmother realized that the plantation was not here it was somewhere in Tennessee, as a result the grandmother reaction of the memory caused the cat to jump on Bailey's shoulder and he loses the track and swerve off the road.
