Aging Out of Foster Care

Introduction

This research paper is based on Aging out of Foster Care. Foster care is administered at the state level, with overall policy directives and some funding coming from the federal government. In foster care, children and adolescents are provided with a supplemental family life experience in an agency-approved home, usually for a temporary period of time. While their children are cared for by foster families, parents receive assistance in working towards family reunification, which is the primary goal of foster care. When reunification proves to be unrealistic, an alternate permanent plan, usually adoption is made for the child.

There are lots of theories on aging. Foster care professionals should be aware that the need for geriatric patients is the satisfaction of integrity. The satisfaction of integrity instead of desperation is a perfect fit to the age and environment. It can be seen with the feeling of having so much wisdom in years, once in our life. If mismatching occurs, that means there are feelings of abandonment, low self esteem and feelings of worthlessness. This is one of the reasons why nursing home facilities are really important to us today. With baby boomers aging, there are only useful professionally institutions which can offer the care they need according to their developmental tasks, as well as physiological needs (Yen, 2009).

About 75 percent of the children entered in foster care home belong to 0-3 years of age, and fifteen percent of these children are newborn babies. Children living their lives in foster home are distant from their parents because respectable judges think that it is not safe for these children to lead their lives at home due to diversified reason. On the other hand, children who are separated from home, particularly infant children are open to the new danger, particularly the negative impact on personality due to separation. However, reaction of children depends on their age at the time of separation, for instance children separated at a younger would know the reason of this incident, and based on their mental strength would react accordingly (Havlicek, 2013).

Discussion and Analysis

Adult home foster care is one of the best things a nursing could go. This is due to the reason that professionals are willing to supervise and assist 24/7. With this type of environment, it might be possible for them to age gracefully along with other seniors. With professionals ready to serve, they can never be neglected in the facility. Today in a population that is aging, it is good to have someone to whom we can trust, it is the quality of geriatric care facilities which is delivered (Avery, 2011). The feedback of young people and colleagues is a useful guide for making assessments and judgments. In the 1990s, a number of cases in which children died after being returned to their abusive parents came to national attention. In April 1993, in Chicago, three-year-old Joseph Wallace was hanged after child-welfare workers returned him to his mother, ...
