Introduction

Work Life balance is basically the achievement on the daily basis and feeling of gratification in all walks of life specifically work, friends, family, health and spirit. The term work life balance can be defined as the ability of an individual to come across their family and work commitments, moreover their non-work responsibilities and actions. Furthermore, the work life balance also includes the connection between family and work operations and it also emphasize on some other aspects of life as well. Balance in work life has gained a lot of importance and preference for having its extensive association. This concept has been defined by different scholars in their own special manner. Everyone has a right to live life to the fullest. We all have different dreams and aspirations, the pursuit of which leads to a satisfied living and personal content for a lifetime. As we enter business lives, we see that aims are not always fulfilled. One has to settle for less sometimes. While we did use our potentials to pursue those dreams, sometimes we end up doing completely different things (Chandra, 2012).

Discussion

Management nowadays emphasize on balancing the time schedule and allowing flexibility to employees in work timings. Most common approaches are flexible working hours, compressed workweeks, permanent part-time work, job sharing, telecommuting, and added leave programs such as parental leave/child care leave etc. Information-based strategies are basically introduced to provide employee assistance programs to help employees make appropriate decision for balancing work-life and social-life to lower the stress and burden. This includes stress and time management seminars, support groups formation, preretirement planning etc.
