ABSTRACT
The paper reviews a decent amount of literature to understand the factors affect acceptability of HPV vaccination among Chinese women in Hong Kong. This was done using a systematic literature review methodology given the amount (large) of date available on the topic. National HPV vaccination data focus on female vaccination, as the ACIP recommendations for male vaccination were only made in late 2011. For that reason, the following discussion of vaccine rates, attitudes, knowledge, and beliefs focuses on females and their parents and/or guardians. STDs are a worldwide health problem, made worse by the fact that these diseases often cause hidden epidemics, meaning that people are reluctant to report them for societal and cultural reasons. In the case of HPV, there are two strategies vaccinative: preventive and therapeutic. The first is intended to prevent the onset of infections, the second (still at a level experimental) to treat them when they are already in place. Human papillomavirus is very common in the population, so it is easy to catch. The virus is transmitted via sexual intercourse. Over 50% of adults at some point in their life will be infected with HPV. In order to prevent HPV infection and reduce the risk of cervical cancer, it is necessary first of all, performing cytology in sexually active women. Currently, there is also the possibility of vaccination on HPV - but remember that the vaccine will only protect against specific strains of HPV, but not 100% against cancer because cervical cancer can also develop on other substrates than HPV infection. The epidemiology of HPV varies worldwide, both for overall prevalence and for infection with specific viral subtypes. HPV 16, one of the two high-risk viral types that causes a substantial number of cervical cancers, is estimated to be the most common viral type infection worldwide (Bruni et ...
