Introduction

Ulysses is one of the top works of modernism and the first product of postmodernism. Researchers call this novel Black Square literature. The author mixes genres and styles of playing them correctly thus turning them into a circuit (Gilbert, 1996, pp. 91 - 98). The book consists of 18 episodes, each of which is from Homer's Odyssey - the Roman version of the name Odysseus. Most often adventurous persons perceive it as an action. It has characteristics of dynamism followed by a certain length of time. Both the dynamics and the length are clearly visible. The adventure with a simple tune and scenario length is mentioned in the book. Joyce came out of it as a great book with an incredible depth of the subconscious and even more depth of human naturalism (Schwarz, 2002, pp. 212 - 217).

Ulysses is the pioneer in modernist novels, which tells the story of one day in the life of the main characters. The narrative is provided in many different forms. The focus of which is given to stream of consciousness. In short, it is very long and seemingly disconnected internal monologues of the main characters (Blamires, 2004, pp.68 - 79). The author tries to put thoughts on paper hero. The book consists of a rambling presentation of thought a man in her presence and active interaction between the different characters and between the characters and the world (though these actions are not the same as in adventure novels and detective stories). In general, novel made by the scheme: character does act - the hero thinks of the act and the hero thinks about his impressions of the process of conduct (Gilbert, 1996, pp. 91 - 98).

Discussion & Analysis

Joyce's novel is a comprehensive and modern poetry: instantaneous, organic and total world and life view. A closer look at the life of the reader requires effort and patience. To the reader, many things will become clear only after the reading. Reading the novel creates many impressive after-images, the more accurate the reading optics as layer by layer, unnoticed and memory for deep through the intricate detail of the whole. Joyce's novel creates cinematic montages of different realities and the time between the levels. The writer's stream of consciousness technique i.e. a human characteristic and species-specific biological, theological and philosophical aspects are provided in his work (Attridge, 2004, pp. 101 - 121). Joyce had grand ambitions with his book. This was supposed to be a modern epic about ordinary people in a European city. Therefore, he chose the title Ulysses and created a set of parallels to Homer's classic masterpiece Odyssey. This is not necessarily as the reader discovers, but Joyce leaked early data on how the novel was constructed. Each chapter lacks admittedly title in the final version, but it is now widely known episode in the Odyssey as each chapter mirrors.
