The Post-American World by Fareed Zakaria

Introduction

The Post-American World is a large name, but it's also my large-scale topic with Fareed Zakaria's excellent book. It's deceptive at best, attention/anger baiting at worst. The name would suggest that Zakaria believes America no longer has power in the world or will no longer exists.

Discussion

Zakaria provides a thoughtful, well-researched gaze into what he refers to as “the increase of the rest.” This means that many other countries that previously laboured to set up themselves in important political, economical, and communal ways on the worldwide scene have not only profited a foothold, but are quickly expanding in ways that starts to rapidly shift the balance of power in the world. Zakaria basically contends that globalization, that four note political word that has conventionally been viewed as a destructive malfunction, has finally started to arrive round to the original goals. We, as a territory, can no longer survive doing the identical kind of politics and economics we have utilised for the past sixty years to be a dominant force in the world. It has become absolutely vital to start collaborating with other nations on international principles or risk being left behind. For some strange cause, compromise scares many Americans. It's nearly like disclosing a signal of flaw to say we might need help one time in a while. Zakaria argues that this mind-set can be very damaging.
