Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of foster care in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on the services rendered by teen mothers and its relation with how foster care and actually add to the development and grooming of children as normal human being. The research also analyzes many aspects of the dealings and services rendered by non-teen mothers and tend to display a comparative analysis with teen mothers and the challenges they experience as women at different stages of the lifecycle. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for the troubles and problems witnessed and faced by teen mothers in the area of foster care and pertains to analyze the related measures, which would help improve the development of them as mothers and of the children they cater, in order to develop a better future and a better society.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

Foster care has been amongst the most constructive facets of any society to exist even in the modern world today. Amongst the most important caretakers and guardians revolved and considered in the area of developing the best and most effective representation, the mothers - adult and teens - come and join the noble cause of the development of the children who do not have anyone to take care of them or give them guidance to develop their mental thought processes to develop their capabilities to survive the future.

Research Question

For this paper, the research question shall be “analyze the effects of teen mothers in foster care and the challenges experienced by them in comparison to non-teen mothers”. With the research question, our basic theory of understanding with reference to teen mothers would be the theory put forth by Erik Erickson and his developmental stages, which covers the human lifecycle in totality.

Measuring the hypothetical claim

In order to measure the hypothesis, the most important tools to be used would be qualitative, secondary research, which will aid in the data collection process.

Significance of the Study

With this study, it would yield that caretakers and care-giving institutions have been delivering their endless, quality services for the purpose and objective of creating peace and delivering services to the children who were otherwise supposed to have a healthy, bright ...
