Main Idea and Outline

They did not answer him, as they were guilty inside their hearts due to their argument with each other about being greatest. On receiving no answer Jesus called the Twelve and addressed them, "If anyone wishes to be first, he must be the last of all, and the servant of all” (Mk. 9:32:35). According to the beliefs of Christian, there is no doubt that everything we do, we talk, and nothing is hidden from the sight of Jesus. And if we take everything according it, we would be many things from which we would be saved from saying and doing, as God judges us from our deeds and words and we would be ashamed that he should see and hear. Jesus made a child sit in between them, and then hold him into his arms and said, "Whoever receives one little child like this in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me, but him who sent me” (Mk. 9:36-37). Likewise, a child needs things, every man on the planet must welcome all the poor people through his power and wealth in the society. Everyone must understand and seek the different needs of poor people in the society. If an individual welcomes a poor person, he is welcomed by God. John said to Jesus, "Teacher, we saw a man casting out demons by the use of your name, and we tried to stop him because he is not one of our companies." "Don't stop him," said Jesus. "There is no one who can do a work of power in the strength of my name and lightly speak evil of me. He who is not against us is for us” (Mk. 9:38-40). Over here, the lesson of patience and tolerance is depicted that needed to be learned by everyone, as the realization of the magnitude of the orb of truth is simply the basis of tolerance. Whoever gives you a cup of water to drink on the ground that you belong to Christ, I tell you truly he will not lose his reward. And whoever puts a stumbling-block in the path of one of these little ones who believe in me, it is better for him that a great millstone hang about his neck, and he be cast into the sea (Mk. 9:41-42). The teaching of this passage defines that every individual who serves the people of God are rewarded by the God. If your hand proves a stumbling-block to you, cut it off.
