Abstract

The same sex or homo sexual parenting has become more prevalent in most of the nations throughout the world. Same sex marriages have got the legal support, now these equality marriages have been raising across all of the religions, ages, ethnicities and races. Homo sexual marriages are now commonly performed in secular social settings and in religious ways. This is said that marriage is the irreplaceable foundation for nurturing the child in the healthier way, and it is crucial for children and their well beings.

This study is conducted to provide the profound knowledge about the lesbian parenting and gay parenting and their positive and negative impact on the development of children. The research has been carried out through reviewing the literatures on the homo sexual parenting by empirically analyzing the literature of various researchers and psychologists.

The findings of the study indicate the mixed results of homo sexual marriages. It has been analyzed from various literatures that the same sex parenting has positive impacts in the child development while some literatures oppose the same sex marriages and according to them, these marriages have adverse affects on the children as they are not socially accepted by their peers.

Introduction

Same sex marriage can be defined as the marriage between the persons of the same sex or the marriage between the homosexual genders. It is legally recognized as the marriage equality as per the marriage act. It has become a common practice in many countries since 2000, and it has become legally allowed to marry with the same sex person.

Homo sexual marriages have now socially accepted, and they are now commonly performed in secular social settings and in religious ways. There are a number of religious groups around the globe who are practicing and promoting the same sex weddings. These groups include the Metropolitan Community Church, the Quakers, the United Church of Christ, Druids, Episcopalians, Native American Religions and the Wiccans.

Since the same marriage has got the legal support, now these equality marriages have been rising across all of the religions, ages, ethnicities and races. The same sex marriages have been recognized under civil rights, human rights, social rights, equality rights, political, moral and religious rights in a number of nations around the globe. This practice has been legally accepted now in more than eleven countries which allow same sex couples to get in to the Wed lock. These countries include Canada, Argentina, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, some States of United States, Israel, Mexico City, Brazil, Aruba, Rhode Islands, Quintana Roo, South Africa, Belgium, Denmark, Portugal, Norway, and Uruguay. Still there are some countries which truly oppose the same sex marriages such as Australia only recognizes it in case of gender re assignment therapy of one of the partners.
