Jealous Husband Returns in Form of Parrot is a master piece by Butler which is based on the theme of communication. The narrator of this story is a parrot who is the dead husband sitting on a branch. His wife accidently buys him from a pet store. The poem reveals that he has problem in communicating and expressing his views and feelings before his wife. He does not know how to say those beautiful words and those feelings in words that he keeps for his wife. He was unable to the right amount of words that tell his wife about his heart (Butler, pp.85-132).
He assumes that whatever little he says to his wife, she will exactly understand what he means, but in reality it does not happen. The interesting part is that the jealousy he keeps was not really the main problem; but the problem was his ability to communicate rightly to his wife. This problem is not rare. There are numbers of people who are not able to properly communicate and this is not their fault. Many men believed that they are not raised to be feminine. They believe that it's feminine who should be emotional and talk about. They believed that this is the characteristics of female to put feelings into words and express them.
The husband was become so frustrated because he couldn't say much to her.
