Were slaves necessary to build the colonies of 18th Century America?

The start of capitalism in the Europe marked with their expansion across the rest of the world as they slowly captured almost every part of the world by the end of 1850s. The Latin America became the first region to be taken over by the Europeans during the eighteenth century and even before as it had a wealthy culture and rich civilizations that were the Inca, Mayan, and Aztec cultures. When Columbus arrived after two years, Spain and Portugal were struggling for the ownership of the New World, an issue which was resolved by the Pope through the Treaty of Tordesillas. The people who kept on spreading in Mexico and Peru destroyed the Aztec and Incan states, respectively. It was due to the smallpox that was badly spread which killed around 50 to 80 million people and it's remembered as one of the biggest genocides in that particular century.

The killing of Native Americans in such a huge number was a big tragedy for them as the New World started to transform in a completely new manner because of the arrivals of Europeans, helped the Continent of America to develop themselves economically with the export and import of various items by the local vendors. The labor shortages that took place were resolved with the arrival of African American in huge numbers. The Spanish colonialism took a major step to develop the port cities for the easy supply of goods such as Havana, Veracruz and Cartagena. Spain had a strong economy because of the revenue earned from the precious metals that were produced and imported in the rest of the world.
