Introduction

Shell employs approximately 102,000 employees in more than 100 countries and regions, and their credit share Shell Group of Companies. In recent years, Shell has consulted with officials of the Ministry of Oil and representatives from the Iraqi government on technical and operational issues related to the development of the oil sector and Iraqi gas.

It seems as Shell wants to establish a foothold in Iraq and Qatar in the long run, as they participated actively with the Iraqi Oil Ministry for providing training programs for technical experts of the institutions and companies affiliated to the ministry, so that helps the ministry to strengthen the technical capacity of local, which will help in the development efforts and reconstruction continuing in the oil and gas sector (Nasi, 2010, 296-321).

History

The name ("shell" in French) and the Shell logo are closely linked to the origins of the Shell Transport and Trading Company, founded in 1833 by Marcus Samuel, specializing in trade shells for collectors of the time London Victorian.
