Current change in an organization

The organization chose to discuss the current organizational change is Nokia. Nokia is Mobile Phone Company. The change discussed in Nokia Company is the Nokia Booster Program. This program is very precious and important lessons and inspirations. This program helped merging of online communities through strategic development and implementation. The year 2004 made Nokia the top mobile phone manufacturer in the world. There then Nokia announced the implementation which was the organizational change for most companies around the world. To focus more on customer aspirations, nine business units became four. Three horizontal units were developed to ensure speed, production and innovation across the globe. The activities covered were customer and market operations, manufacturing, logistics, support activities and product development operations (Sullivan 2006, 28).

This organizational change was effective since the first day. It brought about a hundred new jobs in the industry. The existing jobs and teams under Nokia were reconfigured. Nokia skills to configure rapidly the human resources meeting the customers' needs were recognized when Nokia shared standardized platforms through discipline, philosophy and mindset. Through modular, project-based structure, the involvement of employees of Nokia was deep to develop strategy and implement it. The change was brought in the technological platforms which brought thousands of people from all around the world with ease and speed. Nokia's long term success increased the capacity of social networks where they were more engaged and innovated. In the worst global recession, Nokia's decision as to transform business through ideas of involvement and strategies and actively engage the employees. Nokia brought a better way for customer retention and solutions in the modern enterprise. Booster Program enabled to build an adaptive, flexible organization by suing talents of employees.

Booster research carried out within a user-driven open innovation in practice. Individual services will be developed as components of the ecosystem services in a way that the planning techniques involved in the developers, service and content providers. Services in the development of ecologic point of view are a new world of research. There are no other activities in which the design and use are integrated into one on this scale. Booster will also develop new user-driven open innovation methodologies and try them out in practice the program in their own work (Talbot 2007, 14).

Current social issue

The public issue faced by Nokia is the programmed threats. The principal threats involve the capturing of confidential information, transmitting the information to competing firms, modifying critical information, configuration of computer for unauthorized access and entry of intruders. The delay in the services by Nokia can make the company lose the company's clients and customers. It would also result in company losing the customer's confidence and ability to protect private and confidential information.
