Since the late twentieth century, the demands of homosexual couples have led a growing number of countries to change their legislation with the legal recognition of civil unions or marriages between persons of the same sex. The political debate raises issues related, in particular concerning the rights of unmarried couples or same-sex married vis-à-vis the descent and the adoption .A same-sex marriage is marriages where both partners have same sex. Same-sex marriage should be distinguished from the " same-sex civil partnerships "and other forms of same-sex unions, which are legally distinct from marriage, and often have significant limitations when compared to marriage. It has become the most debatable issue of the current society, however; it is important to discuss this crucial issue and take a part in the solution of this particular debate. The continue arguments has shown that there would never be a combine decision of opposed and favored people, although the separate decisions has to be there for both the opponents and favored people (Wolfson, p. 99-102).
Discussion
Opponents of same sex marriage argue that the traditional and religious norms may enter into marriage only between man and woman, but because the requirements of gays and lesbians to recognize the same right to them absurd and we are not talking about equality of homosexuals and heterosexuals, homosexuals and the granting of a new unprecedented rights. Supporters of gay marriage point out that the registration of marriage is the legal effect, independent of religious norms (in most modern states and legal registration of the church marriage take place separately), and that the law should follow the social changes that lead to the elimination of inequality between people - as happening over the past centuries, when gradually abolished the previously existing ban on registration of marriages (e.g., between spouses, belonging to different social strata, religions or races). At the same time they consider the right to marriage through the lens of natural rights, the rights to physical and mental health, equality before the law (Furbish, p. 36-40).
From the standpoint of anthropology, it is difficult to generalize the meaning of marriage, taking into account the differences characteristic of different countries and peoples. Thus, in the scientific work of Edward Vestermaka the History of Human Marriage (1922) defines marriage as the union of one or more men with one or more women recognized by law and generate certain rights and responsibilities of participants. This definition did not include same-sex relationships are recognized by society, marked by more than 30 African nations. In lexicography the meaning of words may change as the situation evolves. Thus, over the past 10 years in the English-speaking world in the most authoritative dictionaries of words in the definition of marriage is gone for the differentiation of either sex was added to an article on same-sex unions. In the Oxford English Dictionary notion of same-sex marriage appeared in 2000.
