Research Proposal in understanding Islam in cultural diversity

Abstract

This research proposal aims at understanding the importance of Islam in many cultures in which the Islam is shaped or it shapes the cultures in many Muslim countries. This proposal also aim at discussing the teachings of Islam and also to analyze how these teachings are interpreted and practiced in many Muslim countries including the middle east and the Asian countries and also in the United States and the Great Britain. It will also be discussed that how the Islam is understood in each country's culture and how it is contrasted with other religions in the world and how the cultures are impacted from the Islamic teachings in different countries. Moreover, the proposal will also discuss the importance of the topic of Islam in the cultural diversity.

Introduction

There are the many religions that are being practiced in the world. The most common and the largest religions include Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Every religion has its own importance in view of their preachers and followers. Every religion is independently known because of its distinguishing holy being and god to be worshipped. Religions give their followers the particular strategies and rules to lead their lives. These rules and strategies give the distinctive identity to the followers of the particular religion. The religion assists the followers in improving and making better the sense of the world in which they are spending their lives. Thus religion gives their followers the particular way and teachings to follow to guide their lives.

In today's multicultural societies there is cold war among the people because of the religion issues. The way the religions are interpreted and practiced makes significant changes and distinction in the society. However it is also the matter of fact that each religion wants the people of other religions to accept and adopt their religions because all religions believe that their religion is the greatest religion in the world. Though all the religions give the specific and distinctive teachings and have the different beliefs and characteristics but still each religion gives the teachings of humanity and love with the mankind.

Islam is also one of the greatest religions that are being practiced in many parts of the world. Islam has given the significant identity to its followers because of its distinctive teaching. It is also the matter of fact that because of the distinctive image of Islam that is provoking in the world there is increasing shift of the people towards this religion.

Problem Statement

The topic that is chosen for the research is the Islam and its teaching and how Islam is practiced in different countries and cultures and how it is interpreted in different cultures.
