Section 1:

In order to compare the research methods two research based articles have been chosen. These two research based articles are “Evidence-based practices in classroom management: Considerations for research to practice” and “Evaluating Classroom Practices Using Qualitative Research Methods: Defining and Refining the Process”. The first article has used the evidence based research methodology to collect the data; on the other hand second article has used the qualitative methodology for the purpose of collecting the data. A complete review and comparison of these two articles is mentioned below.

Evidence-based practices in classroom management: Considerations for research to practice

In this article, the author describes the classroom management as a very critical skill area. According to the author, it is necessary for the teachers that they should gain the proper training and skills for the purpose of implementing the proper practices of classroom management. This journal article has been developed for the purpose of describing the outcomes of a systematic literature for the purpose of conducting the evidence-based classroom management practices. The author has identified the 20 practices in order to gain the accurate and authentic evidence of the classrooms. The self-assessment tool had also been adopted for the purpose of conducting proper evaluation and enhancement of these practices (Simosen 2008 12).

In this journal based research article, the author has searched different empirical literatures for the purpose of identifying the evidence-based practices in the classroom management. The author has reviewed the ten recent classroom management texts and has also developed the list of the recommended practices. The author has created the five categories of these practices which are i) procedures which have been developed for the purpose of enhancing the appropriate behavior, ii) conducting an appropriate physical arrangement of the class, iii) the procedures which have been designed for the purpose of decreasing the inappropriate behaviors, iv) instructional management and v) structure of classroom environment (Simosen 2008 12). The author has searched the empirical literature which is based on each topic for the purpose of identifying different practices which are enough for meeting the evidence based criteria.

Though, the research method based on the evidence based practices is a difficult method to be established, but the author has chosen this method because of its effectiveness. This method was very helpful in this study for the purpose of collecting the accurate data (Simosen 2008 12). Different organizations agree on the effectiveness of evidence based practice and claim that the evidence based practice methodology fulfills the following criteria: (a) It is helpful in the proper use of the sound experimental and evaluation design and conducting the appropriate analytical procedures, (b) It is also helpful in the empirical validation of effects, (c) It helps in providing the clear implementation of different procedures, (d) It is a perfect method for assuring the replication of outcomes across the different implementation sites, (e) it is helpful in the perfect evidence of sustainability. Thus, these criteria assure the effectiveness of evidence based research ...
