Question 1 The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) comprises of large number of processes and knowledge areas which are usually recognized as best practice in the category of project management discipline. It is a globally recognized standard that has a title “IEEE Std 1490-2003”, which gives the basic concepts of project management, and does not consider the characteristics related to the type of project like construction, software, engineering, automotive etc. PMBOK gives recognition to the five different types of basic process groups and nine knowledge areas which covers entire projects. All the basic concepts have applicability towards the different functions of the work that are in the form of projects, programs and operations. There are basically five different process groups which are:

Initiation

Plan

Execution

Activities related to monitor and control

Closing of the operations

There are various processes that go beyond and experiences interaction with the project or different phase. There are different processes which are explained in several forms. Some of them are typically concerned with the inputs, tools and techniques, outputs and nine knowledge areas related to Project Management. Every knowledge area comprises some or the entire project management processes. For instance, Project Procurement Management includes all the terms related to Procurement activities. There are various terms which come under Project Procurement Management. All the activities which are performed under this category include a lot of value and there is a scope for further expansion of the activities that are there in this category. There is a large portion of the PMBOK which is quite distinctive towards project management, for e.g. critical path and work breakdown structure (WBS). There are many areas which faces an overlap with other management disciplines. The functions under General management comprises of various HR functions which carry a lot of value for any organization. The techniques such as financial forecasting, planning instruments and organizational planning also play a vital role in this regard. Therefore, this is the overall importance of Project Management of Body Knowledge for any organization (DeFillippi, 2001).

In the initial phase, which basically includes the investigation process, the needs for the security are normally created with the exploration of the threats and probability of the attacks which can certainly harm the organization.
