The criminal justice system is established in a society with the intent to safeguard the innocent people from the ones who are determined to harm them and the society. On the other hand, intent of law enforcement is to guard an individual from the one who could potentially or intentionally affect them. Hence, the two; criminal justice system and the law enforcement one; operate in coordination and attempt to come up to achieve their intended objectives, i.e., to punish the guilty and to safeguard the innocent ones. As a society, we are the people who want constant and continuous evolution to take place. We change, our perceptions change and accordingly our societies change. This change is dependable on the emerging and changing trends in our society and inexorably within our criminal justice system (NCVC, 2008). The purpose of this paper is to analyze the past, existing and the future trends in the periphery among the means of the criminal justice system as in its relation with the corresponding society. Further, the paper would identify and evaluate the contemporary issues which influence the prevailing criminal justice system and would attempt to establish the worth of a criminal justice system in an emerging society.
