Personal Statement

One of the most important courses that have fascinated me throughout my life is economics. I have always been interested in knowing how countries manage their economic situations and address the economic problems for the making sure the growth and sustainability of economies within countries. I have seen my father always examining newspapers and focusing on the headlines addressing economic problems of the country over and above any other topic. The realization of economic significance and the keen interest within the subject area of economics have made me choose the course of economics for my higher level studies.

Moreover, I believe that accounting and finance are essentially linked with the core concepts of economics. Economics in my perspective is basically the interpretation of figures calculated from accounting and finance. I believe that becoming an exceptional economist requires a thorough understanding of accounting and finance as well. The importance of economic, accounting and finance related disciplines in today's world have made me choose these courses for the purpose of continuing with my education. Being more specific, I am interested to explore the fields of organizational behavior from an economic viewpoint.

I have taken the decision to opt for the courses of economics, accounting and finance because of the interest I have developed in these areas during my work experience in the F&B Department of the hotel. This experience made me explore the relevance of economic concepts in the professional world. During the course of my studies, I have learned various economic theories and my experience at F&B Department made me realize the linkage of those theories to the practical life. Before my experience at F&B Department, I have always thought that theories of economics are irrelevant to practical life but my work at F&B Department changed my thinking essentially.
