Our Borders and Immigration Issues will continue to have a Voice

Immigration issues have been a major topic in our society. The issue to whether give the immigrants passports, or legal documents. (Brimelow, 1995) In the United States we have a major issue due to the fact that there are many illegal aliens' in this country. Immigration has been a topic that has had much controversy. This issue has risen a change in the frontier states causing a group of people called Minute Men “that protect the border.” The United States has dealt with immigration issues and the benefits and consequences this causes. Immigration has been a major political issue that remains one of the most difficult to resolve.

During the early era most immigrants came from Europe. Later in time Mexico and the United States agreed in a document. This document Was The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo which ceded# the southwest to the United States. During the Mexican Revolution in 1910 more Mexicans were sent to the north. In the year 1930 the depression in the United States caused vast unemployment which meant that Mexican workers had to be sent back to Mexico. The U.S government started the Bracero program which leads to Mexican workers to be able to come to the United States to work during a period of time and then leave back to their country after the seasonal work was over. These people would do all the labor work. Throughout the years Mexicans have left their homes and families to come over to the United State and earn money to send back.

Illegal immigrants are here in the United States as “illegal aliens” but they are here to work and earn a better life style for themselves and their families. Immigrants have to face a hard choice the choice of leaving their family and loved ones behind to come to a country where they will be paid a few dollars for their hard labor work. A job that Americans would not take on. Lately in the news we have heard how they are

building a wall to keep all the illegal people from Mexico to getting in to the United States. This is not the only problem that has occurred. Men that are normal citizens are patrolling the border and have weapons with them and are not afraid of using them. If it's for the cause of keeping illegal's from entering the United States. In the year 2002 it was made more publicly that the United States wants to keep illegal's out of this country. They came up with the solution of building a wall that will run all the frontier border line of Mexico and the United States. This wall is set to be near 2,000 miles long.
