I've got a feeling by Black eyed peas is an extremely vivid and emotional song that utilizes many poetic techniques to tell about an unpleasant experience. The lyrics contain setting, imagery, and structure, all which reinforce its similarities to poetry. These elements also help bring out the pain and loneliness that is portrayed in this song.

I Got A Feeling is the second single by the Black Eyed Peas from their fifth studio album, The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies). It was produced by David Guetta himself. The video features guest appearances by David Guetta, Kid Cudi, and a few well known personalities of the GLBT community, including Ongina of RuPaul's Drag Race fame.

The first technique that this song utilizes is setting. Setting is defined as the time and place in which the events of a poem or story occur. It is told in the first person. The content of the song contains lamentation, by telling a story about a woman who is now living her life without her love. It is obvious that the woman in the song is experiencing heartbreak over a failed relationship. This is a time in her life in which she is dealing with immense pain and uncertainty. It is 6:00 in the morning, and there are explicit details of her robotic morning routine (everything from making breakfast to reading the paper.) Eventually night comes, and again her routine is fully described. The entire narrative takes place in her new residence, minus a trip out to the movies.
