The aim of this research proposal is to increase the awareness about the reasons that Maimonides neonatal intensive care unit should only be using breast milk for entire premature babies that are born between thirty two weeks gestation and under. This paper is focusing on the importance of breast milk for the premature babies within the neonatal intensive care unit because breast milk is known to be very helpful for the normal babies or the premature ones. But it has been observed that the problem arises because of the fact that the babies that are born lesser than thirty seven weeks inside the womb hold diverse nutritional needs compared to the babies with the full term delivery. However, within the hospital growing and feeding is the most significant task for the smaller babies that will help them grow fast and become a normal developed baby. It is very necessary for the premature baby to be capable of reaching the actual weight that they should have gained inside the womb of the mother (Lucas, et. al. 1992).

Another problem that arises with the premature babies who are born with 32 weeks have frequently troubles of feeding from breast or bottle since they do not have adequate amount of strength for swallowing, breathing and sucking. Furthermore, the babies who are born holding breathing problems have different illness, blood infection, circulatory problems, and gagging, lower levels of oxygen and lesser capability of feeding with help of nipple (orally) . The neonates that are very sick or small might require fluids and nutrition through vein. And these babies are weighed on daily basis in order to check the process and also to check their growth rate. If we closely observed the problems that arise as a result of premature birth we can see that the basic problem is the growth of the baby.
